The AI recognises, it does not guess calories
In apps that rely on AI alone, the photo goes to a model that also guesses the calories. In NutriOS the model only gives the name and the grams of the dish; calories and macros come from a verified food database. For the rare item with no match an estimate is used and labelled "AI estimate" on the card.
It knows Turkish and Mediterranean food
Turkish cuisine is a separate cluster of 39,300 entries in the database. Manti, lahmacun, menemen, iskender and more match by name. Two simit on the plate are not duplicated; the count is multiplied by the grams.
Is the photo calorie counter free?
Photo recognition carries a real AI cost on every use, so it is in Premium, unlocked by a subscription or a one-time scan pack. The rest of the app is free: searching 212,747 foods, barcode scanning across 2.1 million products, water and step tracking.
Where does my photo go?
The photo is processed through our server only for recognition; your name, email and account details are not sent. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
