Daily water intake calculator
Enter your weight and pick the rest. Your goal appears with the working, line by line. The water goal in the NutriOS app uses the same formula.
Track it glass by glass
NutriOS sets your water goal with this formula; add 200, 250, 330 or 500 ml with one tap and get three reminders a day. Water tracking is free.
How is daily water intake calculated?
The base is 33 ml for every kilogram of body weight. Three adjustments go on top:
- Sex: +250 ml for men.
- Season: +0 in winter, +250 in spring and autumn, +500 ml in summer.
- Activity: +0, +150, +300, +450 and +600 ml from sedentary to extra active.
Example: for a moderately active 70 kg woman in summer, 70 × 33 = 2,310 + 500 + 300 = 3,110 ml, about 3.1 litres.
Do tea, coffee and food count?
Part of your daily fluid comes from food and other drinks. The goal here is a practical reference for what you plan to drink through the day; thirst and urine colour are the best feedback.
Who should ask a doctor?
With conditions that need fluid restriction, such as kidney or heart failure, and during pregnancy and breastfeeding, a doctor should set your water goal.
FAQ
How many litres of water should I drink a day?
About 33 ml per kilogram of body weight, plus adjustments for sex, season and activity. For a 70 kg adult this is usually between 2.3 and 3.7 litres.
Should I drink more water to lose weight?
Water has no calories and drinking it before a meal may help you feel full, but water alone does not cause weight loss. Total calorie balance does.
Is drinking too much water harmful?
In a healthy adult the kidneys clear the excess, but drinking a very large amount in a short time can be dangerous. Spreading it through the day is best.
